Showing Gratitude: Thank You Cards

This event introduced children to the art style of Christian Robinson , inspiring them to explore bold shapes, color, and storytelling through illustration. Using these techniques, participants created heartfelt thank you cards for local snowplow drivers and bus drivers who help our community travel safely throughout the winter months.

By combining artistic learning with civic appreciation, the event encouraged young people to recognize everyday acts of service and express gratitude in meaningful, creative ways.

Community Building: Tie-Dyeing Activity

In partnership with the local library, we hosted a summer kickoff event designed to bring families together through creativity and play. Participants tie-dyed t-shirts, enjoyed lawn games, and shared time outdoors as a way to celebrate the start of the season.

Events like this strengthen community connection, create space for joyful shared experiences, and reinforce our commitment to building belonging through accessible, family-centered programming.

In collaboration with local organizations, we hosted an ice cream social that gave kids the opportunity to serve their community in a meaningful way. Through volunteering and shared celebration, participants helped raise funds to support our local food pantry.

By pairing service with joyful connection, the event reinforced the value of community engagement and showed young people how collective action, even in small ways, can make a tangible difference.

Spreading Kindness: Community Engagement

We love participating in local parades as a way to celebrate community spirit and share the mission of Create Kindness. Families and supporters are invited to walk alongside us, helping spread the message of empathy, creativity, and kindness.

By showing up together, we create visible moments of connection and invite others to join in building a more compassionate community.

We gathered to center our time together around One Little Light by Kat Yeh, illustrated by Isabelle Arsenault. Through storytelling and hands-on creativity, children reflected on the power of small acts of kindness and the light each person carries.

After reading the book, participants created candles and candleholders as tangible reminders that while one light may not fill the entire sky, it is enough to begin. Events like this help us nurture empathy, creativity, and community connection—empowering young people to recognize their impact and lead with kindness.
